Poker, in recent years, has become more popular than ever before, with world tournaments and televised matches helping to increase said popularity, with Texas Hold ’Em is being the trendy poker game to play. But if you’re going to play, you’ll need a table, and sure, you could use just any regular ol’ table, but where’s the fun in that? Why not invest in a folding vinyl poker table with a felt top? You can add an air of authenticity with a good poker table.
Blackjack is another long-standing game that’s always been popular. Again, you could play it on a regular table, but a blackjack table makes the experience so much better. A standard blackjack table can hold about five to six players on one side, with room for the dealer on the other.
If gambling card games aren’t for you, there is something of a ridiculous number of other card games you could play. Crazy 8s, Blitz, Fish, Bridge, Hearts or Chase the Ace… the list is enormous. If you’re feeling anti-social, there’s even an appropriately-named card game for that: solitaire. If your sensibilities lie toward the geeky, there is Magic: The Gathering. Or you could learn to actually do magic tricks with cards. The options are virtually endless.
If you’re going to have a pile of cards to play with, you’re going to need somewhere to keep them. Lastly, if you’re going to play poker, then you’ll likely want some clay poker chips for that authentic feel. Skip the plastic visor and the cigars, though – that’s going too far.
