The pool table is likely to be the focus of your games room, but it doesn’t have to be the only thing in there. If you have the space, why not go all out and add some other games or fun accessories? In this section, we take a look at some interesting gaming items you may not have considered.

A natural complement to your pool table is a dart board – nothing like a game of darts to break up the monotony of playing pool all the time. Just be careful you don’t hit the table and scratch up your felt! You’ll need a dart board and darts, obviously, but where will you look? And what will you get?

If those questions make you a little nervous, don’t worry – there are many resources you can find for buying darts online. If you’re not sure what kind of dartboard to get or what a good brand of dart board might be, there are several dart board buyers’ guides you can find online that can help.

There are lots of other accessories you can add to your room, such as tabletop games like table curling. You could also get a shuffleboard table, or if you’d like to expand your pool table selection, go for bumper pool. And for our northern neighbors, there’s always crokinole. If you don’t have the space for all this stuff, you could keep a good selection of board games available. All you need is a regular table for those.

If you want to make your games room feel more like a casino, get a home roulette wheel or a home slot machine. You could also add some tables for card playing, like a blackjack table or a poker table. Clay poker chips would add an authentic touch to the experience as well.

A gumball machine is a somewhat quirky feature to a games room, but no one says you have to fill it with gum. Use it to keep fast snacks on hand. Finally, a karaoke machine is something of a double-edged sword – it can be a welcome addition or an earache waiting to happen – but it would make for an interesting addition, at the very least. If that doesn’t work out for you, throw in an old school jukebox instead.
