Dart boards are a fantastic game of skill and precision that have endured the test of time. The game of darts has been around since the Middle Ages of England. Modern dart games are played with a mounted dart board made of tiny bristles to form a pad. Areas of the board are set in a circular pattern and have different point value for landing positions. Hitting the center "bullseye" is every dart player's goal.
When mounting a dart board on your basement wall, you must account for the botched dart tosses that may not hit their intended target! Wall punctures are common with dart boards that are not mounted on a piece of wood first. I suggest that you buy a piece of wood that is about twice the size of the dart board area and mount it on the wall first. For style, you could also have it covered with a black fabric. Dart board cases work well too, but generally don't have the distance needed to insure the entire wall around the board.
Electronic or magnetic dart boards will save you from the stress of filling in dart holes in your wall, but aren't quite as authentic as the real bristle board! You can easily setup a quality dart area in your home for under $150.
